Welcome to the Newmarket Thoroughbred Racing & Breeding Industry Forum (NTRBIF).
Newmarket is the historic home of horseracing and internationally recognised as the headquarters of flat racing and thoroughbred breeding.
In any one month, Newmarket has an average of 2,500 horses in training. It is the UK’s most important horseracing cluster and has the densest concentration of equine expertise anywhere in the world.
The cluster supports one-third of local jobs and contributes over £300million annually to the local economy with its:
Two racecourses, hosting nine Group 1 races, the most prestigious flat racing events in the racing calendar.
1,000 hectares of training grounds and 110km of gallops.
80 trainers, operating across 70 yards.
70 stud farms, including the National Stud.
World-leading veterinary practices, hospitals and laboratories.
Tattersalls, Europe’s largest bloodstock auction house.
